Ancient palaces and temple spires emerge through drifting rain clouds, while the Betwa River swells and sparkles beneath dramatic grey skies. Founded by the Bundela Rajputs in the 16th century, Orchha is celebrated for its remarkable blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty.

Instruments like the dholak, sarangi, nagara, and harmonium give it a distinct rhythmic character. Often performed during festivals and village gatherings, it brings communities together.

Day 1: Arrive at Jhansi, Drive to Orchha

Take a train and reach Jhansi station by 10:30 am.

  - Lunch and orientation @ the Hotel.
  - Post-lunch, explore Jahangir Mahal, a stunning Mughal-meets-Rajput palace famed for its symmetrical beauty and panoramic river views.
  - Stroll through the elegant Raja Rani Palace, filled with painted halls and stories of Bundela royalty.
 - Witness the sunset at the Cenotaphs (Chhatris) along the Betwa River – a picture-perfect postcard moment!
  - A Bundeli style dinner at a local's home.

Day 2: Explore Orchha, Drive to Jhansi

  - Start your morning with Bundeli folk performance, clubbed with the breakfast at an isolated location. It gives magical start to the morning.
  - Take a stroll at the cenotaph complex, which we observed from a distance during sunset the previous evening.
  - Visit to the towering Chaturbhuj Mandir, known for its unique architectural fusion and spiritual calm!
  - Post lunch visit to the Lakshmi Mandir, and enjoy the panoramic view of the city as sun sets.
Drive to Jhansi and drop to Jhansi Railway station.

Location details


Orchha lies in the Bundelkhand region along the Betwa River, where rocky plateaus, river plains, and dry deciduous vegetation define its landscape. It has a subtropical climate with three clear seasons.
Summers (April–June) are very hot, with temperatures often ranging from about 30°C to 45°C. The monsoon season (July–September) brings heavy rains, lush greenery, and cooler conditions around 24°C to 32°C, transforming the riverside scenery. Winters (October–February) are pleasant and mild, with temperatures typically between 8°C and 25°C, making it the most comfortable time to explore its forts, temples, and riverfront views.

Packing List

Do carry adequate/suitable rain gear like raincoats/umbrellas, easy-to-dry clothes and good quality water-resistant floaters/shoes/slip-ons that have good grip on soles.
- Also carry appropriate rain protection for your electronic devices - mobiles, camera etc.
- Carry your own skin-suitable anti-mosquito repellants / anti-bugs sprays for use there.

Each booking made and fully paid-up to us, is with the express and unambiguous understanding that you accept the below-mentioned cancellation policy. Cancellation over email to teamthebrownticket@gmail.com will be accepted as per following datelines.
- Less than 2 weeks before – NO REFUND
- 2 weeks before the trip date – 50% REFUND
In case of cancellation done by TBT, FULL REFUND will be processed.

* Any sudden increase in price due to any reason beyond our control like ‘Act of God’, floods, natural calamity, law and order situation, riots etc. and any forced change in itinerary for any unforeseen situations/reasons beyond our control, will be borne on expense-sharing basis by the clients.
